PRE-PROCEDURE ADVICE

Planning your Treatment

At KARKIRA Permanent Makeup, your safety, comfort, and satisfaction are our top priorities. To ensure the best possible outcome and a smooth healing process, please review the following critical pre-care instructions before your treatment.

⸻

PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP

If you have had permanent makeup done elsewhere, please inform us before booking.
We require clear, makeup-free photos of the area for assessment. This helps us determine whether correction or cover-up is possible. Not all previous work can be treated.

⸻

PLANNING HOLIDAYS OR SPECIAL EVENTS

Avoid scheduling your treatment if you have holidays, weddings, or essential social events within 10 days of your appointment.
Initial healing typically involves redness, flaking, and colour changes. Allow your skin time to recover and your pigment time to settle before revealing your results.

⸻

EYELASH EXTENSIONS

For eyeliner PMU, all eyelash extensions must be professionally removed at least 7 days before your appointment.
Extensions can obstruct the lash line, increasing the risk of irritation or infection.

⸻

EYELASH GROWTH SERUM

Please discontinue any eyelash growth serums (like RevitaLash or Latisse) at least one week before eyeliner treatment.
These serums can make the skin more sensitive and impact pigment retention.

⸻

LIPS PMU & COLD SORES

If you're prone to cold sores and planning a lip blush procedure, we strongly recommend starting Lysine supplements and/or Aciclovir (Zovirax) 3 days before your appointment.
This helps prevent outbreaks that can affect healing and pigment retention.

⸻

SPORT & EXERCISE

Please avoid intense workouts or heavy sweating for at least one week after your treatment.
Sweat and heat can disrupt the healing process, leading to pigment fading or uneven results.

⸻

NO ALCOHOL consumption 48 hours before the treatment.

⸻

ASPIRIN or other blood-thinning medications can affect skin sensitivity and the treatment process. Please inform us in advance if you are prescribed such medication and are unable to stop taking it during the treatment and healing period.

⸻

PATCH TEST

All clients must undergo a patch test at least 48 hours before treatment to assess potential allergic reactions to pigments or anaesthetics.
Contact us to schedule your patch test—it's quick, easy, and ensures your safety.

aftercare ADVICE

General Aftercare Advice

 (Day 1–3):

• Keep the area clean and dry. Gently blot with a clean tissue to remove any lymph fluid, especially during the first few hours.

• Avoid touching the treated area with unwashed hands.

⸻

(Day 1–10):

• Avoid soaking the area in water (e.g., showers, swimming, saunas, or hot tubs). Light cleansing is okay—just avoid direct water pressure.

• Do not pick, rub, or scratch any flaking or scabbing skin. Let it shed naturally.

• Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. UV light can affect pigment retention.

• No heavy sweating or intense exercise for at least 7–10 days.

• Do not apply makeup on the treated area.

• Avoid skincare treatments and chemical peels near the area until fully healed.

⸻

Healing Timeline:

• Days 1–3: The Area may appear darker, swollen, or slightly red—this is normal.

• Days 4–7: Flaking or scabbing may begin. Pigment may seem to “disappear”—this is temporary.

• Weeks 2–4: Colour will resurface and settle. True healing results will be visible approximately 4–6 weeks after treatment.

⸻

Touch-Up:

• A perfecting session is required 4 - 12 weeks after the initial procedure. This ensures longevity and pigment balance.

⸻

Important:

If you notice signs of infection (e.g., excessive redness, swelling, pus, or fever), please contact us and consult a healthcare professional immediately.

⸻

If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you every step of the way!

Brows Aftercare

 (Day 1–2):

• Wipe your Brows thoroughly in the evening, same day after the treatment and next morning with (0,9% NaCl) Sodium Chloride Sterile Liquid provided in your Aftercare Kit. It's essential to reduce lymph weezing residue, which will help minimise the dryness and flaking of the skin in the next few days.

 (Day 1–5):

• Keep it Dry! Avoid soaking the area in hot water or engaging in activities that cause sweating (e.g., showers, swimming, saunas, or hot tubs) to protect the natural process of pigment settling and prevent infection in the treated area.

(Day 6-10):

• Moisturise. We advise applying a thin layer of healing A&D vitamin balm from your Aftercare Kit only if the dryness of the eyebrow area is unpleasant.

Lips Aftercare

(Day 1):

• Wipe your Lips thoroughly in the evening, same day after the treatment and next morning with (0,9% NaCl) Sodium Chloride Sterile Liquid provided in your Aftercare Kit. It's essential to reduce lymph weezing residue, which will help minimise the dryness and flaking of the skin in the next few days.

 (Day 1–3):

• Keep it Dry! Avoid soaking the area in hot water or engaging in activities that cause sweating (e.g., showers, swimming, saunas, or hot tubs) to protect the natural process of pigment settling and prevent infection in the treated area.

(Day 3-4):

• Moisturise. A severe dryness will appear by the end of Day 3. Start applying a healing A&D vitamin balm from your Aftercare Kit as much as you need. This will help prevent the soon-to-start skin peeling process from damaging your lip skin tissue.

⸻

• Eating and drinking as usual, except spicy food, and use the straw for hot drinks on the first day.

Eyeliner Aftercare

 (Day 1):

• Rinse your Eyes thoroughly in the evening, same day after the treatment with (0,9% NaCl) Sodium Chloride Sterile Liquid provided in your Aftercare Kit. It's essential to wash off all leftovers of the pigment between eyelashes and inside the eyes. This will help minimise the risk of infection and reduce dryness and flaking of the skin in the next few days.

⸻

• Eyedrops. Continue using (0,9% NaCl) Sodium Chloride as eyedrops without wetting the eyeliner if needed.

⸻

 (Day 1–7):

• Keep it Dry! Avoid soaking the area in hot water or engaging in activities that cause sweating (e.g., showers, swimming, saunas, or hot tubs) to protect the natural process of pigment settling and prevent infection in the treated area.

(Day 6-10):

• No Moisturising needed for eyeliner aftercare treatment. Continue using your regular under-eye cream as usual

⸻

• Strictly No Eye Makeup during the healing process!
